Does anybody know how to set the TCP_NODELAY option ? We are transmitting smaller packages via socket components (4-500 bytes) and the transmission rate could be much better. We are using W2K and Delphi 4, Prof. We had better performance when using NT4 ! I have heard the delay is due to some waiting for an Ack. signal from the receiver, but it can be turned off by using the above option, but how ? Some API call I guess, but ....?

It sounds like you're asking the wrong question. The right question may be: Why are we transmitting small datagrams over a stream-based protocol? TCP_NODELAY may provide you with some relief, but the answer to your problem is more likely to lie in using a more appropriate protocol to your needs than TCP.
