I have a D3 project that I've been adding Automation server capabilities to. I've run into 2 problems, probably related; First, after adding an interface called 'IAddin", I tried to start over again by removing the Type library from the project, along with the file that had been added to house the IAddIn methods. I then started all over again (File/New.../ActiveX/Automation Object. Again, I types in AddIn as the Class name, and chose Single Instance. This kept giving me errors, even when I tried to compile Before adding any methods or properties. It gave me the error Found ')', expected '.' at: type TRemote = class(TAutoObject, IAddIn) When I tired the same thing, and typed in a different class name (XYZ), I didn't get the error. My conclusion is that there is some remnant of the IAddIn object hanging around SOMEWHERE, but since the TLB and the file that is created to implement the class were recreated, I can't figure out where they are. (I searched the registry too). Q: How can I completely remove all remnants of the Automation object? My second problem is that every time I open the project file, I get the error message "Error Reading Symbol File". I've done complete builds, but it still shows up. What's happening here? Any help or insight appreciated. David Block CoStar Corp. David Block dblock@vdn.com
