Looking for...

Hi guys,
Looking for some help. I have a website that allows others to sell art,
crafts and antiques on my site. I need a way to track inventory. For
instance if a craftsman has 6 angels for sale, I need the customer to be
able to see how many are available. If one sells, I need it to
automatically subtract from the inventory so the customer can see that there
are now only 5 available. Of course I need it to work the other way too.
If a craftsman tells me they just made 10 more angels, I need it to
automatically add to the inventory. I realize I'll have to input this
information somewhere (when I add inventory) but am lost as to how to work
out these problems. I have searched for months and months for any
information on this, but with no luck.

Is this a cgi script I'm looking for? Is it some kind of "if" statement I
would have to add to my database or shopping cart? Can anyone help? I know
I can't be the only person with a website who needs to have this information
available to the customer, so what I need must be out there somewhere! Any
help would be greatly appreciated!
