I understand postscript pretty well as a language, and I can make pretty things come out of a postscript printer. However, when it comes to fonts, I have a point of confusion. I know that I can download a font into a postscript printer, and I think that that is a postscript font. Now, what exactly are adobe type 1 (truetype) and adobe type 3 fonts. I think that the truetype 1's are the equivalent in some way of a postscipr font, but you have to do some conversion from 1 to the other. And a type 3 is not scalable, but rather bitmap, so you can convert it to a fixed point postscript font? Or am I way off base here. John.
