A number of people wrote with questions about the iron-on transfer toner and as others may have similar questions I thought I would post the answers here: Q: Is there any residual toner when you change cartridges? A: No, you can start printing in the new color immediately. Q: Can you do more than one color per page? A: Yes, I have done as many as 8 colors on a page. Just swap colors of toner cartridges in your laser printer and run the page back through. Q: Can you get good registration? A: Yes. There are a number of tricks which we cover in our newsletter about getting good registration when printing with the colors of transfer toner or with our color print toners. The biggest issues are: 1. Keep your machine clean. 2. Feed the paper in the same way every time. 3. Dry the paper out before printing on it so it doesn't shrink. I typically get about 80% to 90% of the pages registered within 1/32 of an inch I recently did a job of 30 copies with four passes (CMYK) and by following all of my rules I got 100% perfectly registered. Unusual but it does happen. Q: Can you do process color and color mixing? A: Yes! This is where it gets really fun. Because it is a dye process the colors mix. We have Cyan (our Blue), Magenta, Yellow, and Black as four of our 12 colors. I do CMYK (process) color work all the time. I use Adobe Illustrator and Adobe PhotoShop for most of the projects. Q: What software do you use? A: Illustrator and PhotoShop but any drawing or wordprocessor will do. What you need software wise depends on what your are going to try to do. If you are going to do photographs you'll need a image editing program like Adobe Photo- Shop or PhotoStyler. Q: Can you get these cartridges in other countries? A: Yes. We sell both in the USA and in other countries. Q: How can I get more information? A: Send me your postal address and I'll send you a sample copy of our newsletter, The Flash. You may also want to get our book, Flash Compendium, of the best of the back issues of The Flash. It has a whole section about using the Transfer Toners. Hope that helps, -Walter BlackLightning, Riddle Pond Road, West Topsham, VT 05086 USA
