People,

Here is a pragmatic solution that I adopted when writing a small
PostScript program that preceded all jobs to our printers. I manually wrote
an editor script that did the white-space striping and the variable
renaming, every time I added a new variable to the program I added it to the
script as well. Over the couple of years I spent tinkering with the program
the script grew to about 1K. The PostScript program changed in size from
7157 bytes to 3953 bytes, a worthwhile saving eh?

  Cheers, Bruce.
