PostScript .. timing the interpreter inside the Printer?

I need to be able to get rough times, on how long the interpreter takes
running a set of code. I am wondering if there is a way to get the program
itself to do this and print out the time it took to process?

Also, we are looking into buying more PostScript printers, does anyone have
any recommendations in the $5,000 dollar price range that is network
compatible (right now we are using a Digital LPS40, several LNO3R and Laser
 Writers)

 please send replies e-mail. thanks
