I know both writers asked for a direct reply, however, it seems to be a FAQ.
The psutils package does both of these.
psutils was posted by Angus Duggan (ajcd@dcs.ed.ac.uk) to comp.sources.misc.
It can be found in volume 22 of comp.sources.misc archives,
for instance on uunet.
On uunet, it is in directory /usenet/comp.sources.misc/volume22/psutils, as
part01.Z and part02.Z, and, no doubt, is listed on archie.
There also exists a file /systems/ibmpc/msdos/simtel20/ventura/psutils.arc,
dated much earlier, that MAY be the same package, to run under DOS. I have not
checked - I pay for my news/mail/uucp.
An extract from the pstops man page follows :-
DESCRIPTION
Pstops rearranges pages from a PostScript document, creating
a new PostScript file. The input PostScript file should
follow the Adobe Document Structuring Conventions. Pstops
can be used to perform a large number of arbitrary re-
arrangements of Documents, including arranging for printing
2-up, 4-up, booklets, reversing, selecting front or back
sides of documents, scaling, etc.
Cheers, Andy.
