Adobe's SendPS and printing page numbers on A4 paper?

We have SendPS 2.0, which we use to download PostScript and text files
generated on Unix boxes to PostScript printers from Macintoshes
over an Ethernet/AppleTalk net.

Our LaserWriter printers have A4 paper in A4 cartridges, which means that
the page numbers generated by SendPS for text files are too far to the right
and cannot be printed.  Reducing the left margin in the SendPS dialogue box
doesn't help.

Has anyone modified SendPS so that its page numbers can properly print
on A4 paper?

Any help welcome.
