Font substitution in Postscript

I am trying to print a large number of postscript files from a printer
that has a limited number of fonts. When I tried to print files it
aborts due to bad font names.

I would like to seek advise on how do I substitue those unavailable fonts
by available font names in a systematic way. I know when you do that the
document format may alter somewhat.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
