Spot function for line screen?

I have the Red Book and the Blue Book.
The Red Book mentions that it's easy to make a "line screen" but it's not easy
enough for me to pull out of the air...

What kind of spot function will make a screen like this:

 Light                                Dark
                                  ============
                     =========================
         =====================================
==============================================
         =====================================
                     =========================
                                  ============

(I use a Mac & LaserWriter at work, and an Amiga with Post1.7 and an old 9 pin
printer at home)

Thanks
