next -- does postscript work well?

I am contemplating trying to get myself a next.  Are there any problems 
printing raw postscript files on a next?  Does dvips (rokicki) work well with
it?  I have heard that the postscript interpretation is done by the main
machine (and not by the printer).  Is this true?  Are there any problems?
