Well... I'm going insane. Period.
I need to get a postscript file to a non-apple file printer(versatec) via
ghostscript. It looks okay except for a few things...
----------------------------------------------------
(initial header with title and stuff)
%%DocumentProcSets: "(AppleDict md)" 71 0
%% Copyright Apple Computer, Inc. 1989-92 All Rights Reserved.
%%EndComments
%%BeginProcSet: "(AppleDict md)" 71 0
userdict/LW{save statusdict/product get(LaserWriter)anchorsearch
exch pop{dup length 0 eq{pop 1}{( Plus)eq{2}{3}ifelse}ifelse}{0}ifelse exch rest
ore}bind put
userdict/patchOK known not{save LW dup 1 ne exch 2 ne and false<1861AEDAE118A9F9
5F1629C0137F8FE656811DD93DFBEA65E947502E78BA12284B8A58EF0A3
(this appledict md definition goes on for 30K)
--------------------------------------------------
Now - what the hell is the appledict doing in a general postscript file?
It then defines the appledict md procedure, but it isn't formatted
worth a darn. Is that appledict md definition (beginprocset) viable?
Ghostscript 2.3 sure doens't like it... that's for sure...The appledict
md definition doesn't seem to have a lot of formatted postscript
language to it... Any suggestions?
Also - there was a shareware application called Addlprep which
said it clarified complications with **IncludeProcSets: "(AppleDict md)"
but I couldn't run it with system 7, or sytem 6 with 7.0 laserdrivers.
This sounds like it is what I need, since the above crapola all revolves
around the definition of the definition of "appledict md". has there
been anything more recent? If so, I would appreciate it.
Any help would be appreciated, because I am a truly desperate man.
We have big plots that have to be fed from mac -> ghostscript -> versatec.
Is it also a problem maybe that system 7 outputs levelI postscript?
thanks in advance for any help...
steve
