Is there any application (commercial or not) for any common 
computer (Unix, Mac, PC) that will allow object oriented editing
of graphics in an eps format file?

Or, is there any way to get an object oriented file ( like an 
_object_ (as opposed to a bitmap) PICT on a Mac) from an eps file?

Adobe?
