It translates to:

print the string "%%[|0|]%%" on stdout channel and flush that channel

This is the usual way to pass information to the host which transmitted
the PostScript file. The idea in this case is to keep track on the host
about the progress of the print job. This way the Macintosh spooling
software can inform you about the number of pages printed. The same
channel is used to transmit PostScript errors back to the host.

Problems with Macintosh PostScript printed on non-laserwriters is not
uncommon unfortunately. The above print statement however is unlikely
to be harmful unless your printer spooler tries to interpret it and
draws wrong conclusions from it. Deleting it (see below) will tell.

As a side note: once I ambitiously started to disassemble the prolog of
the Macintosh PostScript trying to lay my finger on some problems we'd
encountered. But I had to give up this project due to lack of time.
Did anyone do a similar analysis and achieved results too?

Just delete everything in between "{" and "}".
