I would like to modify the appearance of a character in a Type 1 font (in this particular case, the lowercase Helvetica el "l"). Can this be done and, if so, can someone point me in the right direction? My first attempt was to copy the type 1 font into a new type 3 font, add a buildchar routine and redefine the drawing procedure for the character I wished to change but I cannot figure out a way to execute the proprietary drawing routines once they are in a Type 3 font. If someone knows a way to do this, or another approach altogether, I would appreciate the help. Thanks in advance, Joe Cornelius Internet: ccfr001@utxvm.cc.utexas.edu
