If you think about it (but Apple clearly haven't) there can be no possible value in using setsccinteractive in a LaserPrep file intended for transmission through the LocalTalk port. It is an example of the ultra-egotistical attitude which says "I control this printer, therefore I will initialise all of its settings as I want, regardless of whether I care or not". Other people only do this in a mild fashion which screws up attempts to embed their PostScript output into other PostScript documents. Apple do it in style, by changing the EEPROM setting for unrelated aspects of the hardware as well! -- William Roberts ARPA: liam@cs.qmw.ac.uk Queen Mary & Westfield College UUCP: liam@qmw-cs.UUCP Mile End Road AppleLink: UK0087 LONDON, E1 4NS, UK Tel: 01-975 5250 (Fax: 01-980 6533)
