I have few images compressed with Adobe Photoshop's "Adobe JPEG
Compress" Plug-in and they are in PostScript format. The header states
that I must have a level 2 printer to print these with, but when I try
to print them with my LaserWriter IIf, it only gives an PostScript error
(%% Image - TypeCheck ...%%)
What to do? Where is the problem?
Here's the header if someone is interested (from a grayscale pic):

You need to change the "/Decode ..." array from "[0 1 0 1 0 1]" to "[1 0 1 0 1 0 1 0]" and change the colorspace to "/DeviceCMYK" (from device RGB). The filter sets up a proper header for the RGB data, but does not alter this header to reflect the 4-channel case. This may be your problem, although our level-2 devices give ioerror when this happens, not typecheck. Also, I haven't looked at grayscale images (if the filter even supports them!). If this is what you are doing, and you are still getting the RGB header, you'll need to change to "/Decode [0 1]" and /DeviceGRAY colorspace.
