We want to annotate epsf format graphs with labels, arrow etc. It seems that DIsplayPostscript workstations should be able perform postscript editing (at least adding things over the top of a postscript image) interactively, but I have not heard of anything that does. A poor second choice would be a program that displays a simplified encapsulated image of the postscript image, and lets you annotate relative to that. I believe that this is what some of the high-end PC/Mac publishing programs do. Is this correct? Are there PC/MAC programs that let one view and annotate an EPSF image? -- -Boyd Blackwell Plasma Research Lab, RSPhysSE, ANU/ GPO Box 4 /Canberra ACT 2601/AUSTRALIA internet: Boyd.Blackwell@anu.edu.au PHONE: +61 62 49 2482 +61 62 51 2605(h) FAX: Boyd Blackwell, PRL +61 62 49 1884

I, too, would be interested in the outcome !! For publications involving EEG research, many graphs and annotations are often required. In the past, I've written code which produces graphs in HP-GL format and imported them into PageMaker -- for some reason I've found less joy with EPSF files :-( PageMaker was then used to generate arrows, labels, etc. I've looked at high-end drawing packages too (e.g. Corel Draw) mainly with the thought in mind of eliminating the intermediate (HP-GL generation) step but without much luck. I am almost resigned to writing my own package, NOT the sort of thing you toss off before morning tea one day, just for light entertainment !! Cheers, Denis
