TI microLaser buffer overflow

I am operating with Unix SVR4 from Consensys using my parallel adaptor
to connect to a TI microLaser. My problem is that if I send a lot of
postscript output to the printer ( 20 to 30 % larger than the buffer
size) my printer drops some of the characters that are sent. I have
a friend that has the newer microLaser and uses it with MS-DOS :-(
and he has the same problem. I have three questions for netland:

1. Has anybody had this problem besides us?

2. Does anyone have a fix?

3. Does anyone _know_ why this happens so I can fix it myself?

Answers to any of the above questions will be appriciated greatly.

I have the same problem here when running the data through an el-cheapo
print sharing device. On the other hand, when I connect the printer
directly to the printer port over a short (4 ft) cable, the problem
goes away. I suspect the problem is in poorly designed port hardware.
Try connecting your machine to the printer with as short a cable as
possible.

A more serious problem I'm having is that when the printer runs out of
memory because of a large graphic, it just quits. No error code, no
indication on the LCD panel, nothing. Really annoying after
the damn thing has been accepting a job for 45 minutes. Grrr.
