Hi Folks, is there anybody interested in a PostScript to (Meta-)Font converter? I wrote a device driver for GhostScript-2.3 (NOT yet -2.4!) that outputs *.mf source and --- if desired --- a complete TeX-font in a resolution of your choice. Each PostScript page is put into one letter (limiting the number of *.ps images per font to, say, 60 when starting with character 'A'... and using 7 bits(?)). The images (==letters) can be incorporated into TeX documents. The code is written for UNIX, means: I didn't worry about the MS- DOS-specific 64K segmentation stuff. However, some of the PC dvi tools cannot handle large characters (e.g. size of a page) anyway... It runs fine on a SS-1+ clone. Since I don't understand GhostScript's argument parsing mechanism, some of the vital parameters are set to defaults and must be changed by the means of environment vars. A wrapping shell script may do that for you (I should find one --- somewhere...). lohmaier@cs.tu-berlin.de
