Hello Netpeople, i am looking for a downloadable fixed-pitch PS font with a char width of 0.5em (14.4 cpi). It should have the Standard PS Character Encoding or at least have different back and single quotes. The char width of Adobe's Courier font is 0.6em (12 cpi). I need a smaller font to type- set program listings in books and papers. I already know LetterGothic which has 0.5em chars, but i need a font with serifes (sp?) like Courier, PrestigeElite or something like the Computer Modern Typewriter Type (cmtt) from TeX. I also heard about a fixed-pitch font named Amrican Typewriter, but i couldn't get any information about this font (Adobe has an ITC American Typewriter font, but this is not a fixed-pitch font as i understand). The support people at Linotype Germany don't know any small fonts. They even can't say you the (fixed) char width of PrestigeElite. I bought PrestigeElite and discovered that it has the same width as Courier does (somebody out there need a PrestigeElite font? :-) I appreciate any hints to commercial or non-commercial offers. It is very urgent, so please respond by mail. Thanks for your help. regards, Stefan -- Stefan Stapelberg Phone: (+49)-9352-5948 RENT-A-GURU (TM) <stefan@rent-a-guru.de> Fax: (+49)-9352-9696 P.O. hmm... If I understand you, you want a fixed-pitch font that will
print out at 14.4 cpi at a pointsize of 12. So why not just do the
following:
/MyNewCourier /Courier findfont [8.333 0 0 12 0 0] makefont def
and then do
MyNewCourier setfont
whenever you want to use the font?
The little bugger will be kinda narrow-looking, tho'....
