ASCII file --> POSTSCRIPT (I need a converter for IBM)

What I'm getting at is that I need a postscript program that will take
an ascii file (plain vanilla text) and convert it into an encapsulated
postscript file so that output that is ascii will be printed correctly
on the laser printer.

I have a program from Adobe themselves that does a line by line
translation of an ascii file into postscript, and it does work.
Only problem is, it doesn't seem to recognize the end of file on the
IBM's. While using the "lpr" program on unix, the postscript file
printed fine without hangups. On the IBM however, the laserjet
printed all the pages of that job BUT froze. It seemed like it didn't
know when the end of file had been reached. What finally happens is that
the printer waits too long and decides to reset. Only problem is, with
a large number of people using the same printer, it becomes a major
snail...

Anyway, please somebody help. I'd appreciate it very, very much!

p.s. could there be something wrong with the EOF character on IBM's
that's screwing up the postscript printer?

p.s.s. please reply by mail. Thanks in advance! Any help appreciated!
