X-window PS for VMS?

I'm currently developing a Postscript program for printing a report. I will
also be doing other reports in the future. However, the only Postscript
interpreter that I have available is a printer. I've already printed a third
of a ream (sp?) of paper, and I do hate killing trees.
I would like to use the X-station that is sitting on my desk as the output
device until I want a hardcopy output. I've found Ghostscript (GNU's
Postscript interpreter) on athena-dist.mit.edu, but I don't have the time nor
the inclination to port it. (I've tried to port GNU stuff before, you see.)
Would someone happen to know a site from which I may ftp an executable for
VMS? (No comments on my choice of platform, please. That's not the issue.)
In case that is not available, would someone know where I could get the C
source code already ported for VMS?
Thanks in advance,

P.S.: Followup if you think it's relevant, or send mail to me (at the address
in my signature). I'll followup if I get significant replies.

No problem, the software is already in place on your DEC workstation. The X server has the display PostScript extension (unlike many other vendors X servers). Either use the CDA viewer or link the PS file into something like DECwrite, which displays PS figures as you edit the document (*real* WYSIWYG!) I use such a set-up every day on my VAXstation 4000 VLC. -- Chris Lilley --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Technical Author, ITTI Computer Graphics and Visualisation Training Project Computer Graphics Unit, Manchester Computing Centre, Manchester, UK Internet: lilley@cgu.mcc.ac.uk Janet: lilley@uk.ac.mcc.cgu Voice: +44 (0)61 275 6095 Fax: +44 (0)61 275 6040 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Try $View/Interface=DecWindows/Format=PostScript 'file.ps' or $Help View al Al Lilianstrom Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory Batavia, Illinois lilianstrom@fndcd.fnal.gov My opinion. Not the DOE's, URA's, or anyone else at Fermilab
