I am wondering if there is a way to give a ps command to print
multiple copies of the ps file. I have a two page color postscript
file that I want to send to the color ps printer. I need several
copies. I know that I can keep sending the file multiple times, but
I want to know if there is a command to issue to do it. I looked
at a ps book and couldn't find anything on copies in the index.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks. edit the ps file, replace instances of "showpage" with copypage copypage [... however many you want, n-1 times where n = number of copies] showpage this will give n copies of the first page, n copies of the second page, without re-imaging the page. -- Sean T. Add:
/#copies <value> def
After the first line (usually) the %!
That is the quick and dirty way of doing it. If you have a multi-page file,
the definition may have to be placed in a different spot, but #copies is the
value that is used to print more than one copy.

Try inserting the following line in a suitable place in the setup block of your PS file or sending it as a single command before your PS file: /#copies N def where N is an integer (don't ask me what the range is!). Ref "Postscript Language Reference Manual", 2nd ed., Adobe Systems Inc., p629 where example is given. However be sure to reset the no. of copies to 1 after you have finished printing your multi-copy document! ----- Khee Chan PROFS: esoc(kchan) BITNET/EARN: kchan@esoc SPAN: jplsp::kchan INTERNET: kchan@jplsp.jpl.nasa.gov COMPUSERVE: 73750,1402 I speak for no-one, and no-one speaks for me, sometimes not even myself!
