question: Laserjet with postscript

We have a LaserJet II equipped with a postscript cartridge.  Locally, 
it works fine with WP.  But it seems always gives "PS ERROR 18" for 
whatever files I got from other source, example, ps file generated
on our mainframe computer.  I also have postscript files from some
ftp site which is printed fine on our mainframe, but can't be print on
the Laserjet PS.

Anyone has any ideas?  With appreciations,
