LaserWriter IINT and 8-bit data

Hello!

Apologies if this isn't the appropriate newsgroup...:-(

I'm having problems with a Apple LaserWriter II NT that refuses to
accept 8-bit data.

We have an application that generates postscript containing 8-bit
data. It prints OK on most printers except the LW II NT. The printer
hangs off the serial port of a Sun IPX and I'm sure the printcap
entry is correct, because it works with a LaserWriter II NTX.

The thing that's driving me nuts is that the printers are identically
configured. Both printers reports none-space,8-bit,1 stop-bit, and
XON/XOFF, for both the 9 and the 25 pin serial port.

Nevertheless the result is stripped to 7-bit.....

Is this a known Intepreter/Hardware bug or a pilot error?

The printer reports hardware revision 1 and Intepreter version 47.0.
(The NTX has rev. 3 and Intepreter ver. 51.8)

Thanx in advance!

Aren't you supposed to put out the data as two bytes instead? That is what
I have seen done all the time.
