Which Word Perfect printer driver is best for generating "generic" PostScript files that are to be distributed by FTP for printing on unpredictable kinds of printers? I was using the Apple Laserwriter one, but its output gives an error when previewing on a Sun under Pageview. -- :- Michael A. I think the Apple Laserwriter is just about as generic as you can get. Anyway judging from the .prs files of the various postscript printers I have installed (Apple Laserwriter, QMS410, NEC Silentwriter 890XL), I suspect that WP has standardized its postscript driver. I say that because all the .prs files are about the same size (~67k) with the difference probably only in the number of fonts available on each printer. (Note that I am using the Nov 91 UK update). Can anyone confirm this? By the way, I do wish that WP would make their postscript driver DSC compliant. I'm very new to PostScript... Why is it that Pageview dislikes the PostScript files that I've been producing with Word Perfect, then? It gives an unrecognized command error, "_t" followed by 4 digits which I don't recall. Is Pageview reliable? Am I looking at a limitation of it rather than of Word Perfect? I do not *yet* have a PostScript printer. Any day now... Would I be better off using WP for Windows with a Windows PostScript driver? -- :- Michael A.
