Can a default font sub be forced?

I'm working with someone who has about 5 years worth of PageMaker
documents that need to be publicly distributed as PostScript files.
The documents use a commercial font (ITC-Souveneer) that cannot
be distributed with the files, and naturally the end users aren't
likely to have this font.
When these files are sent to a LaserWriter, Courier is substituted
for the missing font. Is there any way to force a different font
like Times to be substituted -- regardless of the consequences
such as line and page break problems?

Doing a textual substitition for the string "/Souvenir" or "/ITC-Souvenir" or whatever you're using with "/Times" should work. Or, you can preface the files with a little Postscript program that creates a copy of Times under the name Souvenir. The reencode example from the Blue Book will show you how to do that. -- Peter da Silva `-_-' Ferranti International Controls Corporation 'U` Sugar Land, TX 77487-5012 USA +1 713 274 5180 "Zure otsoa besarkatu al duzu gaur?"
