Hello! I would like to be able to blow up a complicated drawing by printing four quadrants of it on separate letter-size sheets and pasting them together. Does anyone have a simple way of doing it? I have several programs that do the reverse operation (put two pages of text on a single sheet), but they don't seem to be able to do the reverse operation; the FAQ did not seem to contain this either. I expect that this may as simple as appending four simple coordinate transformation before four copies of the original file, but I am not a Postscript expert and before I write a filter to do it myself I thought I'd ask if more knowledgeable folks did it before me. Look for the program 'poster', use archie or xarchie to locate it. If you can't find it I can mail you the sources (about 10K). From the source code: # # poster.c - a generic PS scaling program # This program outputs a PostScript page to a given size, # create tiles if necessary. Each tile will be 7.5" by 10" with crop marks. # I've made several 'door-posters' using poster. If it is that small, post it. An archie run on "archie -s poster"
produces a large and confusing output (at least from my machine)

Does anyone have a simple way of doing it? I think there is a program in the "Blue Book" by Adobe that will do this. I don't remember any of the details, but you can get the source from the adobe server by sending a mail message to ps-file-server@adobe.com containing the line send Programs bluebook.shar Send a message containing the line "help" for more information on the server. Hope this helps, Mark. -- Mark Harrison, mharriso@dsccc.com
