I'm going to write a kind of Meta Interpreter in Sicstus Prolog with a GUI Display in Java. So I need to be able to get them speaking to each other. Stage 1 ======= Rather than direct calls I thought I'd make it so that the Meta Interpreter spat out one line commands to a file which was watched by a Java Application (and processed). Stage 2 ======= ...and Vice Versa! The Java Application could accept user input that would be sent back to the Prolog program using the same technique. Background ========== I think that my Meta Interpreter needs to be the Sicstus trace function with the additional interfacing done. So clicking the 'Step' button in the Java GUI would get the 'tracer' in Prolog to step to the next line of execution. Problem ======= HOW? (ie. How do I accomplish this - anybody got any good ideas?). -- -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------ :Alan Ogilvie : A.T.Ogilvie@ed.ac.uk (Personal): :WWW Page/s : http://www.tardis.ed.ac.uk/~alan/ (Personal): ------------------------------------------------------------------------ "Some men see things as they are and say 'why?'
