I remember reading somewhere about MIT C-scheme getting X window
support at some point. Has this happened? Can I get a version of
scheme that will run on Suns with either X window support, or support
for opening socket connections (to arbitrary ports on different
   hosts)?

We are currently working on X windows support. Edwin runs under X11,
and we are working on importing most (or all) of Xlib. If you need
some graphics in the interim, I can send you a very small X11 graphics
definition, but you may have to do some work.
