Silicon Graphics has a new open position in its Mountain View headquarters for a Manager of ASIC Design. This manager will lead a project team of five to ten engineers involved in development of SGI's next generation digital media workstation platform. Responsibilities include coordinating ASIC development to meet overall system development goals, managing individual contributor engineers, and interfacing with vendors for design support, custom cell/block development, and packaging. This position requires an MS/BSEE or equivalent, plus eight or more years in development of standard cell ASICs, with three or more years experience as a manager. Knowledge of current CAD design support packages, packaging technologies, and design methods is required.
