But I need to keep ]| the order of the files (which is not respected all the time in the mail ]| list). Can I tag files in the order I want and then uudecode them ]| (with a pipe, I suppose) ? If yes, how ? ]First, there should be no need to uudecode the files in any particular order. ]The "begin" header of a uuencode gives the name that the uudecoded file will ]have, and if the uuencodes were part of a single distribution every single ]one will have a unique name in its "begin" header for the uudecoded version ]of its own contents. I respectfully disagree when a file has been uuencoded and *then* split up into chunks which will make it through the network(s). In this case there will be only one item where the uuencoded data is preceded by a "begin", and only one ending on "end"... The way I do what Marc Mendez seems to be asking is: - Copy all the relevant items to a separate folder, ONE BY ONE and IN THE CORRECT SEQUENCE. - Edit this folder, deleting all the extraneous lines between the chunks of uuencoded data. - Then kick uudecode to do its thing to the edited folder. If I made a mistake, I CAN start over again, because I COPIED the original items from my mail folder. Regards. $$\ F.
