Elm and Xterms

Hello.

I'm a new reader of this group, and like all
new readers, I'm ignorant of what has come before.
So, if you've already disussed this problem, please
be patient with me.

When I start ELM version 2.2 PL15 from my root window,
the program does not recognize my backspace key as
erase. The command I use to start elm in my .mwmrc file is

"elm" f.exec "xterm -ls -tn xterm -T elm -e /usr/local/bin/elm"

and my .profile does set the backspace to erase.

Any suggestions or solutions?
