Hi guys 'n gals, ** PLEASE REPLY BY E-MAIL, WE DON'T GET THIS COMP.MAIL.ELM AT THIS SITE. ** I am looking for a workaround for a problem in filter. Basically the whole problem lies in the fact that we have stupid user names here, with underscores. This means that when I try to use an exec rule, with any program or script in my personal directory tree, the path gets split with a space where all the underscores were. eg: ( subject "backup" ) exec /home/ln_smr/bin/backup.report gets interpreted as: Rule 1: if (subject = "backup") then Execute /home/ln smr/bin/backup.report which results in the error "/home/ln: file not found" funny that. So, if anyone knows a workaround for this problem, which doesn't involve me getting a new user name or home directory (I have already tried) could you please let me know. I really don't want all my cron outputs in my mailbox every morning :-) thanks in advance -------------------------------------------------------------------- Stephen Riehm Configuration Management _-_|\ ln_smr@pki-nbg.philips.de Philips Kommunikations Industrie / \ Work: +49 911 526 2975 Nu"rnberg, Germany \_.-.!/ Fax: +49 911 526 3678 "I was there, now I am here!" v "My company speaks another language, I CAN'T speak on its behalf" PS: You may think I am joking, I can't speak the language that well so PLEASE DON'T REPLY IN GERMAN! - thanks -
