Printing Problem

We have a Dell Latitude LM laptop running Windows 95 (40MB RAM, 133 MHz
processor) with only the 16-bit versions of Eudora Pro (v. 2.1.2) and
WordPerfect 6.1 installed. Lately we have started to experience
inconsistent problems printing from the laptop to our Hewlett Packard
Laser Jet 4 printer. After we send documents to print from either Eudora
or WP, it sometimes complains:

"This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down"

Then we get to choose between "Close" and "Details"

Upon clicking "Details," it says:
"Spool 32 caused a stack fault in module Spools.DLL at 014f:7fc2d226"

When we opt to close Eudora or WP the laptop locks up completely. We
can't even stop the print job, so then the next time we re-start the
laptop it still thinks that it has pages to print from the last session.
Very annoying.

Upgrading the software to 95 versions is not an option at this time....I
can re-install the programs, but why would this start to happen (it
worked fine for months)? Is there a better way to fix this problem than
brute force re-installation? Could it be the print driver? -- we have HP
Laser Jet 4/4M on LPT1 specified.

Thank you for offering any advice.
