I have a Word97 file that I am sending from AOL to my Internet account. I use Eudora Pro for all my Internet Email. As it turns out, the Word97 file appears to be a 7-bit ASCII file, not a binary image - therefore it appears as TEXT to the AOL Emailer. I of course would like it to stay as an attachment... I also tried this with sending CONFIG.SYS as an attachment. Same results - 'embedded' vs 'attached'. When I send it to myself on AOL, it comes thru as an attachment. When I send it to my outside Internet account - It comes thru as 'embedded text', not as a MIME attachment. here is how the msg + attachment appears when sent from AOL to an Internet mailer. Notice that MIME is nowhere to be found - Only PLAIN/TEXT is used as encoding - Phil - ==================>>>>> Message 1: >From xxx@aol.com Sat Aug 30 18:12:52 1997 From: xxx@aol.com Date: Sat, 30 Aug 1997 19:12:20 -0400 (EDT) To: xxx Subject: Re: sending text files as attachments --PART.BOUNDARY.0.29998.emout01.mail.aol.com.872982629 Content-ID: <0_29998_872982629@emout01.mail.aol.com.5673> Content-type: text/plain <<<<======================= normal msg text === tnx for the response - but I don't think you interpreted my msg correctly.
