I haven't seen this slowness either. Of course it all depends on your
environment. Under MIPS Ultrix the zmail executable is:

slapshot:~/News 25# ls -l /usr/local/bin/zmail
-rwxr-xr-x  1 bin       2437120 Feb 22 14:50 /usr/local/bin/zmail

If you don't have enough memory then its going to be slower. Motif in general
is fairly resource intensive. I have a 5000/240 with 64 MEG of ram, so I'm
a happy camper.
