The FTP server that the mime overview is on was broken this weekend. It is up again. In hopes of avoiding any confusion, the original announcement of the MIME Overview follows: ================ In order to promote interest in MIME I have written an overview of MIME that is a gentler introduction than the RFC. It begins with a two page overview of what MIME is and what it is good for. The remainder of the document describes the technical details of MIME. The mime overview is available in two forms: postscript and ASCII. I recommend the postscript version as being more readable version. Both versions of the mime overview are available by anonymous ftp from adad.premenos.sf.ca.us. They are in the /pub directory. The postscript version is in a file called mime.ps. The ASCII version is in a file called mime.txt. -- Mark Grand Premenos Corporation 510-602-2000 1000 Burnett, Second Floor mark@premenos.sf.ca.us Concord, CA 94520 -- Mark Grand Premenos Corporation 510-602-2000 1000 Burnett, Second Floor mark@premenos.sf.ca.us Concord, CA 94520

It seems that the overview only covers RFC1341 (the mail body stuff). RFC1342 (on using fancy character sets in some of the fields of the headers) can be argued to be part of MIME too. Maybe it should be covered in the next version.... /AF
