                                                  mini-proposal

We are the group of computer animation artists who were
the first in Russia to have something to do with computer
graphics and computer animation. We started to work in this field
some years ago when there were two or three graphic workstations
in Russia. During these years we have created almost 80% the
computer animation that can be seen on Soviet Television - the
headers for TV channels and programmes, small spots and commercials
for soviet and even some foreign companies. Now we are doing the
major work in this field for new independent TV companies and
enterprises.
Our group includes all the nesessary specialists - artists,
computer animation artists, programmers, TV and film directors,
composers, producers and managers.

THE TECHNICAL BASE

In 1991 we started to develop a new field - computer
animation and business presentations on PC. We established con-
tacts with Techexport Inc. and Autodesk and brought the PC-based
animation workstations in this country. They include 486 PCs,
Truevision Targa+ and AT-Vista graphic boards, Diaquest VTR
controllers - hardware and software from Autodesk ( Autodesk
3D Studio, Animator PRO ), AT&T GSL ( Topas, Rio, Sable,
ImagePaint ), Time Arts (Lumena), HumanCAD (Mannequin)
and so on.
Since October 1991 a lot of animation was produced on
these workstations and we find them easy to use and very compe-
titive. Now almost all our work for TV we do using these stations
but also Bosch FGS4000 and Chyron. For postproduction we use
the Ampex equipment and sound recording studios to record the
music for the spots.

THE IDEA ITSELF

Since we are the people who first started to work with
computer animation in this country and now produce the 80 persent
of all the animation spots for TV ( and really the best ones ),
we found it interesting and benefitial to start the fruitful
cooperation with Your country.
Watching MTV, VH-1, CNN and other programmes we realised
that we can produce the computer animation not worse and maybe
even better than that in USA.
The other reason is that we can produce it cheaper than
in USA because the prices are lower here.

WAYS OF COOPERATION

Our group of computer animation artists can produce the
spots for American TV companies, commercials for use in Europe, USA
and in this country, business or other presentations for lower prices.
With Your help we can find the ways of fast communication to
eliminate delays.
We can work using the equipment mentioned above that we
have at our disposal but there is a further idea: as far as we
know it is better to use the Silicon Graphics mashines to obtain
better quality and save time. So we can establish some kind of a
Joint Venture that will use Your equipment and our brains and
hands. If there will be enough work we could return the money
for the computers in a very short period of time. Two goals may
be reached this way - the better quality of our work for You
and we can enter the Russian market of computer animation with
the new generation equipment and leave behind the companies
trying to work in this field. Because in some time there will
be other people who will come with this idea and leave us behind.

Anyway we would be glad to find the ways of cooperation
and listen to any proposals.

   With hope and respect
               for computer animation group
