Recently, I asked for sources of mail programs that would run on a PC, download mail from a Unix system, and synchronize the Unix mail with the work done locally when you upload again. Since several people expressed interest in the answers, here are the three pointers I've received thus far. I have not yet looked at any of these products, and therefore cannot provide details or evaluations. ------------------------ Portable Mail runs on MS-DOS and processes UNIX mail Price: $149.00 Org: Qualix Group, Inc. Phone: 1-800-245-UNIX e-mail: info@qualix.com fax 415-572-1300 ------------------------ AT&T Mail offers such a product. It's called Access Plus. You can contact them at 1-800-MAIL-672. ------------------------ try taking a peek on cac.washington.edu. There's a package called "imap" that provides mail services for PCs/Macs. It's all in the public domain, and I think they provide a sample PC client. It's not of the upload/download variety (more interactive) but it might be what you're looking for. (I believe the top level directory "imap" is the one you need to look at...just use anonymous ftp to get in)
