Anyone using Solbourne news with mush ?

I use snews (Solbourne news) to read and post news. The
documentation says that I can set the MAILER environment
to specify the mailing program I want to use. I set it to
mush but when I reply to News articles my signature doesn't get
appended and the header specified in my .mushrc doesn't get
included in my reply message. If you know how to fix this
please let me know
