Using MERCURY 1.44, with group mailings, we unfortunately get the following kind of error: "The local mail transport system has reported the following problems it encountered while trying to deliver your message: ------------------------------------------------------------------- <all@foo.bar.no> Group mailing: 202 delivered OK, 2 failures. -------------------------------------------------------------------" 1) What's wrong? What is "the remedy"? 2) More helpful diagnostics possible? I *have* tried to send to the Novell groups directly from PMail; this *does* yield "misses" in the mailings (with the ubiquitous message "WinPMail cannot create the container file for your message (the container file is the file which holds your message until either the recipient reads it, or a gateway processes it). The most likely causes for this problem are as follows: ** If you are running in NetWare mode: 1: You may not have rights in SYS:MAIL, or the rights may have been altered. 2: You may be out of disk quota on the SYS: volume on your file server. 3: There may be a directory restriction on the recipient's mail directory in SYS:MAIL - this will affect you even if you have plenty of disk quota available yourself. 4: The system administrator may have set up an alternate new mail directory structure; doing this disables mail from other servers, and if an error is made in the configuration, can result in mail not being deliverable locally either." However, I do not have any reason to suspect any of the conditions 1-4 to be true; I am running as a "supervisor" right now; with sufficient rights and disk space. Well, any ideas :) Thanks - in advance! Please (also) mail directly to me in case you reply; I don't wish to scan all the groups crossmail'ed constantly! -- Arnt Richard Rrvik Dept. of IS services, HiST AHS Voice: (0047)73559167 Email: Arnt-Richard.Rorvik@ahs.hist.no
