I've written AutoHand for a friend of mine. AutoHand will automatically
reply to and forward messages on Pmail mail systems. It runs on DOS, Win95
and WinNT.

See description below.

If more persons are interested in having/running AutoHand, let it know in
this Newsgroup and I'll put it online. One important thing: AutoHand needs
Perl and DOS-pmail. If you can't handle these two programs, I think you
should not yet try AutoHand.

Description:

AutoHand is a program to automatically reply to and forward messages on
Pmail mail systems. This can be useful during holidays, out-of-office
situations and for general mailboxes.

The Pmail mail system can be anything from a Netware LAN to a standalone
machine.
There can be Internet-gateways like Mercury, Mastgate, Taxis Mail and
SNUUPM.

AutoHand needs only to be run on one system ('server') per network. You
don't run AutoHand on any client PC.

AutoHand relies on Perl and DOS-Pmail: those tools should be configured and
correctly running on the 'server' running AutoHand. You can run AutoHand on
the platforms that support these two tools, for example DOS, Win95/98 and
WinNT.

AutoHand is not a program with a graphical user interface; you need to know
how what a command prompt is. You need how to edit a file.

You put a file AUTOREP.TXT in your mail home directory to automatically
reply to unread messages. You put a file AUTOFOR.TXT in your mail home
directory to automatically forward messages.
