OK... new problem here on 3.01b. At home and the office. I can send attachments but I can't forward anything. All forwarded attachments (or enclosures) show up in text format. In the help listing I find... Forwarding messages If you wish to refer a message to another person or people, then highlight it in the folder list and click the Forward button, or press <F>. A small dialog will open prompting you for the address to which the message should be forwarded. If you click Edit before forwarding, then a message editor will open allowing you to change the contents of the message before it is sent, otherwise it will be forwarded at once. If the message has attachments, you can choose whether or not to forward them as part of the message by clicking the control 'labelled Forward attachments as well'. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I see no control button labelled "Forward attachments as well". It appears the 3.01 is not detecting any attachments. Can anyone verify this? Like I said, I can send a file with an attachment to myself. But if I forward it back to me... I get this: --Message-Boundary-8776 Content-type: Image/GIF; name="sample.gif" Content-disposition: attachment; filename="sample.gif" Content-transfer-encoding: BASE64 R0lGODdh5AEEAfcAAAAAAIAAAACAAICAAAAAgIAAgACAgMDAwMDcwKbK8AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA ... What am I doing wrong???? Thanks in advance, Phil **************************************** philh@mindspringx.com Remove the 'x' to reply for email ****************************************

Note: It is presently a restriction of the program that if you forward a multipart MIME message with changes, the multiple parts will not be accessible to the final recipient. To get around this, we recommend that you forward the message twice, once without changes, to preserve the multiple parts, and the other time with changes to include your edits. **************** I uncheck the box that says 'edit mesage before forwarding' and it appears to work now. Is this going to be fixed soon? PHil **************************************** philh@mindspringx.com Remove the 'x' to reply for email ****************************************

I have the same problem in Pegasus 2.54, but unchecking the 'edit
message before forwarding' doesn't enable the forward attachment
button. Any ideas? I'm not up to upgrading to 3.01b just yet.
Thanks.

The 'Forward attachments as well' only will be available when
forwarding a message that was sent locally on the LAN using the
built-in mailer with an attachment, i.e. with a associated *.PMF
file. In all other cases this option will be greyed out. Messages
are received with attachments in three very different ways and only
one of them is an attachment, the others are either enclosures or
message parts. Pegasus Mail handles each these differently. All of
these assume you are using v2.54, these options are not all available
in earlier versions.
1. Attachment - This is two completely separate messages, there is
no association between the message and the attachments. The
messages can be selected using the space bar and then forward
them all at once. You will be give a number of options on how
you want to forward these messages.
2. Enclosures - This generally is best forwarded using forward w/o
editing since most of the time the enclosure is too large for
the 30 K message editor. You can also create a new message to
the address you want to forward the message and then drag the
message from the message folder onto the new message and then
select 'Attach instead of enclosing'
3. MIME multipart messages - This is treated differently depending
on where you are. If you are in the message reader and select
forward, only the current part will be forwarded. If you want
to forward the entire message, you must forward the message w/o
editing from the message folder. You can also create a new
message to the address you want to forward the message and then
drag the message from the message folder onto the new message and
then select 'Attach instead of enclosing'

| Thanks.

It's very frustrating to have to send them in separate messages. My recipients don't really enjoy it either. Why can't Pegasus be made to forward all of the parts at once? -Greg G -- Greg Gershowitz mailto:gregg@charlotte.computex.com International CompuTex, Inc. http://www.computex.com (704)547-7383 x230 FAX: (704)548-1948
