Hi, This is a v. simple question to all you sendmail gods, that will hopefully make you feel good in answering it off the top of your heads: We have a Sparc which is connected to name server, and so any mail that is sent to a resolvable name will be sent correctly. However, not all mail addresses have IP numbers associated with them. In these cases the mail bounces with the message "host unknown". If this occurs, our work around is to send mail via a more intelligent machine using this format: prompt% mail username%computer.domainaddress@intelligent-machine-address instead of the usual prompt% mail username@computer.domainaddress So, I would like to know if there is a simple fix to sendmail.cf to send all mail via the intelligent machine, or maybe just the bounced mail. It would seem to me that this is a one line fix, but I haven't found it yet. Thanks in advance, Chris Gatenby gatenb@mrisun.med.yale.edu
