hi,	the poblem is this. here ( iit madras, india ) a server which
many of our faculty use does not have a pop server running. so currently
the way they use mail is to telnet to that server and use unix mail.
is there a way to circumvent this. i.e. an email software that can do
this automatically. i.e. log in check mail and retrieve and then logout.

standardd mail packages which i have seen are able to do this only if
a pop server is running.

thanks for your time and hope you are able to help me

naveen.

What sort of server does the machine run? All the UNIX mail programs
I'm familiar with require a POP server.
