redirecting mail to a local mailbox for a UUCP site user

I've recently replaced all my installations of sendmail 8.8.5 with sendmail
8.8.7, and commensurate with this I'm trying to help out a member of my
dial-in server who has a shell account on the server as well as a UUCP feed
for his own machine.

What he's asked me to do is temporarily redirect all his email that's
addressed to his account on the UUCP site so it ends up in the mailbox for
his shell account rather than being queued for transfer to his UUCP site.

Because of the 'flat' domain in which my machines exist (ie. many machines
in the same domain even though some connect via UUCP or whatever to others
like a tree), I use the mailertable feature on my server to push email
addressed to a UUCP site (fed by my server) through the correct mailer
(uucp-dom) to be queued.

I have tried setting up a virtusertable entry like this:

login_name@machine_1.domain	login_name@machine_2.domain

where machine_1 is the UUCP site the person in question uses, and machine_2
is my server that provides the UUCP feed, to make email addressed to this
person's UUCP site go to his mailbox on the server, however, this approach
doesn't isn't working.

Is there a simple but reliable solution for what I'm trying to achieve?

Please let me know what tip, ideas, etc. you have...

Regards,

Craig.
