Savemail problem after Patch Install
#3611

Over the weekend I encapsulated and mirrored my system disk on Solaris7
system, and also installed the complete set of 7_Recommended OS patches.
Now I keep getting the following error message from sendmail:

savemail panic:
savemail: cannot save rejected email anywhere: No such file or directory

Keeping in mind, that I am a complete novice when it comes to sendmail
configuration, can someone please explain to me in "layman's term" what is
now going on with my system.

It means you many not have postmaster configured as a valid alias and thus
error messages (aka DSN's or bounces) cannot be delivered, or perhaps the
local delivery agent (/usr/lib/mail.local) isn't working right-- the stock
Solaris config has that program setgid to mail using the maillock() routines.

Run 'newaliases' and maybe 'echo "hi" | /usr/ucb/mail -v postmaster', then
look at your logfiles.
